Wyoming East, Bluefield Returning to Charleston

New Richmond, WV (WOAY) – Wyoming East girls basketball is headed to the Class AA state tournament for a third time in four years after a 93-40 win against PikeView Thursday night.

Emily Saunders led all scorers with 18 points, while Gabby Lupardus recorded a triple-double (10 points, 12 rebounds, and 23 assists). Laken McKinney scored 13 points for PikeView.

The Lady Warriors are the #2 seed in the state tournament, and will play Lincoln at 1 PM Wednesday. The Cougars won at Nicholas County 52-38.

Bluefield, last year’s runner-up, is also headed back to the Civic Center after a come-from-behind win against Westside 65-43. The Beavers are the #8 seed and will play North Marion at 5:30 PM Wednesday.
