WVU Tech to build new residence hall

BECKLEY (WOAY)- A brand new residence hall is in the works at WVU Tech.

Director of University Relations Jen Wood Cunningham tells WOAY that over 250 new beds will be available for the Fall 2020 semester.

Construction starts in the spring behind University Hall. The reason for the a new residence hall, according to Cunningham, is that the current dorms are completely full of students.

“We’re at capacity with all of our two residence halls, Hogan and University,” Cunningham said. “We’ve grown in enrollment the last two years, last fall and this fall.”

WVU Tech is also encouraging the public to send in suggestions to name the residence hall.
