WVU Tech Receives At-Large Bid to NAIA Championship

WOAY – WVU Tech men’s basketball is headed to the NAIA Division II Championship for a second straight year after receiving an at-large bid Wednesday.

The Golden Bears posted 20 wins for the third time in four seasons, as they advanced to the semifinals of the River States Conference Tournament. Michael Scott was selected to the league’s First Team, while Thomas Collins & Brandon Shingles were both Second Team selections.

Prior to their RSC tournament semifinal loss to IU Southeast, the Golden Bears had won three straight, including a come-from-behind quarterfinal victory over Asbury. They enjoyed multiple four-game win streaks earlier in the season.

WVU Tech is the #7 seed in the Duer region, and will face #2 seed Indiana Tech on Thursday, March 8 in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
