Beckley, WV (WOAY) – WVU Tech men’s basketball improves to 11-8 as the Golden Bears defeated Asbury University 91-90 at the Beckley Raleigh Convention Center. Freshman Andreas Jonsson finished the night with a game-high 24 points. Junior Brandon Shingles finished right behind him at 22 points. Both teams finished the night shooting relatively close in field goals, WVU Tech (42.5%) Asbury (42.4%) The Golden Bears will stay at home to host Midway University this Saturday, January 20 at 3:00 p.m
The Lady Golden Bears snapped a four game losing streak as they defeated Asbury 73-67. WVU Tech improves to 10-10 as junior Alexandra Combs posted a game-high 14 points and her teammates sophomore Laura Requena and freshman Brittney Justice both added 13. WVU Tech will also stay at home to host Midway University this Saturday, January 20 at 1:00 p.m.
