WVU Defeats Texas Tech on Senior Night

WOAY – West Virginia men’s basketball honored its two seniors – Jevon Carter & Daxter Miles, Jr. – with a wire-to-wire win over Texas Tech, 84-74, Monday night in Morgantown.

In their final game at the WVU Coliseum, Carter scored 21 points and recorded seven assists, while Miles contributed 18 points and four assists. Esa Ahmad added a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds. West Virginia closes the regular season Saturday at Texas.

The WVU women closed their regular season Monday with a loss at #3 Baylor, 80-54. Naomi Davenport led the Mountaineers with 18 points and 10 rebounds, playing all 40 minutes. Teana Muldrow scored 16 points for West Virginia, which is guaranteed the sixth seed in the Big 12 Tournament. Mike Carey’s team will play in the quarterfinals Saturday evening.
