WV Parkways Authority Holds Meeting to Discuss Turnpike Toll Changes

383

FAYETTEVILLE– Unlimited driving on the West Virginia Turnpike without paying tolls could soon be an option.

A $172 million road project for 10 counties could benefit drivers if the Bond on the Turnpike would pass. A public meeting was held on this evening at the Fayette County Courthouse in Fayetteville, to talk about the increase of tolls that would take place January 2019. This would double the cost from $2.00 to $4.00 if the proposal would pass. But if you have a EZ-Pass in your vehicle and opt to pay $24 for a one cost fee for the next three years you can drive on the West Virginia Turnpike without having to stop and pay tolls.

Greg Barr, General Manger for West Virginia Turnpike says, it’s a win win for the Turnpike and for the drivers.

If you were unable to attend this meeting the next meeting will be held on Monday at the Beckley Convention Center.
