WV House Education Committee Rejects Tebow Bill

WOAY – The West Virginia House Education Committee voted 16-9 Wednesday to reject House Bill 4007, which would have allowed homeschooled students to play sports for public schools in West Virginia.

Senate Bill 130, which is similar to the house bill, is currently in the Finance Committee.

Both chambers passed a resolution last year, commonly known as the “Tim Tebow Bill,” that was vetoed by Governor Jim Justice.

Currently, more than 30 states allow homeschooled students to play sports for public schools.
