WEATHER ALERT: Wind Chill Advisory In Effect For Parts Of Our Area

OAK HILL (WOAY) – A Wind Chill Advisory has been issued for parts of our area tonight with wind chill values dropping as low as -15°.

The National Weather Service has issued a Wind Chill Advisory for Western Greenbrier, Eastern Nicholas, Eastern Webster, and Pocahontas Counties from 7pm Wednesday evening through 9am Thursday morning.

WIND CHILL ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 7 PM THIS EVENING TO 9 AM
EST THURSDAY…

* WHAT…Very cold wind chills expected. The cold wind chills
will cause frostbite in as little as 30 minutes to exposed
skin. Expect wind chills to range from 5 above zero to 10
below zero.

* WHERE…Western Greenbrier County, Eastern Nicholas, Eastern Webster, and Pocahontas Counties

* WHEN…From 7 PM this evening to 9 AM EST Thursday.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

A Wind Chill Advisory means that cold air and the wind will
combine to create low wind chills. Frostbite and hypothermia can
occur if precautions are not taken. Make sure you wear a hat and
gloves.
