Two People Killed In Mercer County Crash Identified

UPDATE: (9/4/18 at 12:45 pm) Victim’s names released in the deadly accident that occurred in Mercer County on Sunday.

Chief Deputy Joe Parks tells WOAY that Phyllis Rambo, 72, and April Rambo were pronounced dead at the scene.  A third woman driving a Toyota is still recovering at Roanoke Hospital with serious injuries.

UPDATE: (8:45 P.M.) According to Chief Thompson with the Green Valley-Glenwood Volunteer Fire Dept., one person was injured while two people died.

The one injured has been taken to an area hospital.

BLUEFIELD, WV (WOAY) – Parts of U.S. 460 are shut down until further notice after a multi-vehicle accident.

Dispatchers say they received the call at 5:50 p.m. on September 2nd, 2018 after two cars collided in front of Cole Subaru.

At this time it is unknown whether anyone sustained injuries but dispatch says one person has to be extricated.

The West Virginia State Police, Mercer County Sheriff’s Department, Green Valley-Glenwood Volunteer Fire Department, and Princeton-Bluefield rescue squads responded to the scene.
