Beckley, WV (WOAY) – Liberty High School alum Trenton Begley signed a letter of intent Wednesday to play baseball at WVU Tech next season.
Begley, who plans to major in mechanical engineering, received Class AA All-State recognition through multiple seasons with the Raiders, including being named to the First Team in 2017. He was WOAY’s Baseball Player of the Year in 2017.
He says staying close to home played a significant role in choosing the Golden Bears, along with getting to know head coach Lawrence Nesselrodt and his staff.
Begley says it’s been a dream of his to play college baseball, and is excited to get started.
