Thousands Without Power In Mercer, Tazewell, and Bland Counties


BLUEFIELD, WV (WOAY) – Thousands are without power in southern West Virginia and southwest Virginia

Appalachian Power says a transmission line went down in Bluefield at around 5:25 pm Monday evening.

Counties experiencing outage include:

Mercer County around 3,000 without power

Bland County around 3,600 without power

Tazewell County around 270 without power.

It is estimated that power will be restored at around 11 pm Monday night.
