Princeton Police make another arrest for a residential burglary

PRINCETON, WV (WOAY) - One man is in jail for breaking into a home in Princeton.

On December 5th, 2018, members of the Princeton Police Department responded to a residence on Bluefield Avenue in Princeton about a daytime burglary in progress.

When officers arrived, the homeowner advised that a subject had entered his residence via a basement crawl space, and had also attempted to force open the front door of the home. The homeowner advised officers that the suspect had destroyed the lock leading to his basement to gain access to the residence. The suspect was able to escape the house just before officers arrived. Upon gathering a detailed description of the suspect from the homeowner, officers immediately began searching the area.

Officers then observed a male subject matching the description of the suspect and began speaking with him. During this investigation, the suspect, Taurino Rea was arrested for Daytime Burglary and Destruction of Property. Mr. Rea was placed in Southern Regional Jail on a $7,500 bond. Mr. Rea should be presumed innocent until proven guilty.
