MOUNT HOPE (WOAY)- Trees. Ornaments. Stars. Oh my!
This week’s one tank trip- we’re at the Wonderland of Trees at the Ruby Welcome Center in Mount Hope. It’s a two week event starting Friday, November 2nd.
There are 35 different Christmas trees, decorated by local businesses, schools and groups.
“There’s some pretty awesome ones,” Kenn Miller, Summit Bechtel Reserve Operations Director, said. “I have to tell you, Lowe’s put one in new this year and there’s a tool box so it’s not just the tree it’s the value added.”
<I love all of the trees,” United Way Director Michelle Rotellini said. “I think they look absolutely spectacular in this vicinity, the way the lights reflect in the windows and the floor it’s all really beautiful.”
On the last day of wonderland of trees, trees are going to be auctioned off and you can vote on your favorite tree. The one with the most votes gets the people’s choice award and bragging rights for the next year.
“Three years ago we had a tree that went for 7000 dollars,” Rotellini said. “Now we haven’t had that happen in three years. Last year’s top seller was 2500 dollars.”
