PRINCETON,WV (WOAY) – Over the last week the Princeton Police Department swore in a new Chief of Police.
Though he has been filling in for both the assistant and chief of police. Chief T.A. Gray has officially replaced previous Chief J.W. Howell who retired earlier this year.
With his new positions one of his main goals is to focus on the on-going drug epidemic in the area while also working with local students.
Gray said that he plans to start, “Teaching the youth the dangers of drugs and the effects of what could happen if they do use them and get involved.”
Over the next four weeks the Princeton Police Department will be hosting prevention education programs. To teach local students things from bike safety to the effects of smoking.
