Mountain Lions Split Doubleheader With Golden Eagles

Athens, WV (WOAY) – Concord basketball closed a three-game homestand Thursday by splitting a doubleheader with the University of Charleston.

The Lady Lions won 75-70 to extend their win streak to four games, led by 21 points from Madison May. After an evenly played first quarter, Concord outscored the Lady Eagles 26-8 in the second, and was able to hold multiple comeback attempts in the second half. Heather Chapman had a double-double with 16 points and 11 rebounds.

The Mountain Lion men started strong against Charleston, but a first-half run allowed the Golden Eagles to go into halftime up 48-30, as they won 82-65. Tommy Bolte led Concord with 26 points, including perfect shooting from three-point range, while B.J. Hamlet contributed eight points.

Concord heads on the road Saturday to UVa-Wise.
