The Martin Luther King Jr. Day celebration in Lewisburg, West Virginia has been growing every year. More than 300 passionate West Virginians attended this year's celebration hosted by the Greenbriar County MLK Celebration Day Committee.
"It's very important we remember his message now because of all the injustices that are going on in the country and around the world. I'm very pleased with the turnout," said committee member Danny Seams.
Today's march featured hundreds of West Virginians of all ages and colors. It's proof Dr. King's vision of equality is alive and well in the Mountain State. Comittee members were especially proud of the large youth turnout for today's event, and what that says about the future of West Virginia.
"Year after year, more and more kids are growing up with Dr. King the hero, and that's preparing them for the fact that it's not all peaches and cream," said committee member Steve Rutledge.
