Marshall Football Mourns Passing of Larry Aaron

WOAY – Marshall football defensive end Larry Aaron III passed away Thursday due to complications after being shot by gunfire.

Aaron was struck and paralyzed during a New Year’s Eve party in Maryland. He was part of the Thundering Herd’s 2016 signing class, and played in eight games in 2017, recording 13 tackles.

Head coach Doc Holliday issued the following statement Thursday:

“Our thoughts and prayers are with all of Larry Aaron’s family and friends, many of whom were his fellow Thundering Herd teammates. His loss will be felt in every corner of our program and his spirit will never be forgotten.”

Marshall University says it will hold a fundraiser during Saturday’s men’s basketball game with Charlotte, selling 93Strong t-shirts at the Cam Henderson Center.
