Local Heros During Flooding

HANOVER, WV (WOAY)- When tragedy struck one local community last week during the floods, a fire rescue team and ambulance took matters into their own hands to help rescue Mildred Taylor and bring her to the hospital in Logan.

As the floods demolished the main bridge and the temporary bridge the community had, Hanover firefighters and Elite Care Ambulance traveled through the mountains and worked endless hours to make sure that Mildred received the care that she needed.

While the community is very thankful for the firefighter’s help, they are asking for a new bridge in order to get to and from places safely.

WOAY reached out to Mildred’s future daughter-in-law, Stephanie Maynard who shared that she is very thankful for all of Hanover Fire Department’s help during the rescue.
