Coal City, WV (WOAY) – Independence football is coming off their first win of 2018 last week at Westside, with senior Niko Burgess having played a role in that game.
Burgess, who has played for three different head coaches in his time with the Patriots, has embraced the position change from receiver to running back, and is optimistic that like last year, Independence can overcome a rough start to finish with a winning record.
The Patriots stay on the road this Friday at Clay County.
