Kroger Donates Water to Town of Rupert After Water Main Breaks


RUPERT (NEWS RELEASE) – The Rainelle Kroger donated 4,000 bottles of water to the Town of Rupert after a water main broke leaving the Town without water over the weekend. Rupert, in western Greenbrier County, remains under a “boil water” advisory. The water main has been repaired.

“We greatly appreciate Kroger’s generosity,” said Mayor Jim Nicholls. “It’s nice to know that our neighbors will come to our aid in a health emergency.” “Kroger is privileged to serve the wonderful communities in Greenbrier County, and it’s a pleasure to help friends and neighbors in emergency situations,” said Steve Turner, manager of the Rainelle Kroger.”

Rupert’s population is approximately 1,000. The Town is about 10 minutes from the Kroger in Rainelle.
