Kowalska Named WVU Tech Women’s Basketball Head Coach

WOAY – WVU Tech announced Friday that Anna Kowalska is the new head coach of Lady Golden Bear women’s basketball. She succeeds Jenna Everhart, who resigned earlier this month after eight seasons with the school.

Kowalska, originally from Zdunska Wola, Poland, joined the WVU Tech staff in 2013 and has held multiple titles in the athletic department, including assistant women’s basketball coach and assistant to the athletic director. In 2015, she was named WVU Tech’s head volleyball coach; the Lady Golden Bears volleyball team opened their 2018 season Friday at a tournament in Brunswick, Georgia, losing 3-1 to Reinhardt but defeating Faulkner 3-2.

Kowalska played two seasons at Kent State University, leading the Golden Flashes in scoring in 2009, the same year she was named to the Mid-American Conference First Team. She was a graduate assistant at KSU from 2010-2012.

WVU Tech women’s basketball begins the 2018-19 season October 30 at Bluefield College, with their first home game November 8 against Shawnee State.
