High School Soccer – August 22

WOAY – Oak Hill boys soccer opened its 2017 season on Tuesday, hosting Princeton.

The Tigers gained momentum early in the first half, scoring twice with goals from Drew Hopkins and Peyton Brown. Brock Autrey scored in the second half, as did Aidan Keaveny for Oak Hill, as Princeton won 3-1.

Broderick McDonald and Nate Smith had seven saves total in goal for the Red Devils, while Cody Hall had three for the Tigers.

In girls soccer action, Brittany Dye recorded a hat-trick for Princeton as the Tigerettes won 4-2 against Oak Hill.

Greenbrier East took a first-half lead against Woodrow Wilson in Fairlea, with Fiona Berry scoring the opening goal of the match. However, the Lady Flying Eagles rallied for a 2-2 draw.
