Greenbrier Hosts Tennis Classic on Renovated Court

WHITE SULPHUR SPRINGS– The first big sporting event since the summer flooding hit the Greenbrier was held this afternoon.

The Champions Tennis Classic was held today. Some of the biggest stars in tennis were in White Sulphur Springs showing off their skills. Fans got to get up close and personal with tennis stars like John McEnroe and Venus Williams. The stars played in male and female singles matches. We spoke with a few lucky kids who had the time of their lives being ball girls and boys in today’s games.

“It was amazing. I mean just watching them play and seeing them hit so hard and it’s so cool when we throw them the ball, said Rania Patel of Florida.  “Just being on the court near them is a wonderful experience,” said Gabi Noche of South Carolina. “It’s a great experience,” said  P.J. Noche of South Carolina.

Pro Emeritus Pete Sampras even let some of the kids play during his match against McEnroe. The Champions Tennis Classic continues tomorrow with mixed doubles matches.
