LEWISBURG, WV (WOAY) – A Greenbrier County man was sentenced to serve 10 to 20 years in prison, pay a 1,000 dollar fine, 20 years of supervised release, and register as a sex offender after he pled guilty to child sexual abuse.

On November 30, 2018, Roger Lee Holliday was sentenced by Judge Jennifer P. Dent in Greenbrier County Circuit Court for Sexual Abuse by a Parent, Guardian, Custodian, or Person in a Position of Trust to a Child. Holliday pled guilty to the child sexual abuse and was sentenced to serve 10 to 20 years in a State Penitentiary, a $1,000 fine, 20 years of supervised release after his sentence has been served, and will be required to register as a sexual offender with the West Virginia State Police for life. Holliday was remanded into custody at the conclusion of the hearing.

The case came to the attention of the Child and Youth Advocacy Center in March 2017 when the details of abuse were disclosed. The Greenbrier County Sheriff’s Department then began investigating and charged Holliday with the sexual abuse. Greenbrier County Assistant Prosecuting Attorney Britt Ludwig represented the State in seeking justice for the victim and family, negotiating the plea deal that sent Holliday to prison.
