BECKLEY, WV (WOAY)-  WVU Tech Beckley is excited to announce that they will be hosting their second Golden Bear Alumni Weekend.

The events will begin Friday, March 2nd at 4:00 p.m. and will continue until Saturday night with a reception at 5:30 p.m.

Golden Bear Alumni Weekend will help bring together the community to celebrate both University’s Alumni 0f the Year and the Athletic Hall of Fame Inductees and a Memorial Reception for Dr. Leonard Nelson who was the president of WVU Tech for twenty-five years.

WVU Tech will introduce the first Nelson Distinguished Young Alumni Award Winner.

” Our alumni awards are actually for folks that are further along in their career, so what we wanted to do was add another element to be able to recognize those who are young and really entering their careers and have been out of college for at least five years. We are just very excited to be able to recognize Andrew Blatt, who is our very first Nelson awardee,” said Jen Wood Cunningham, Director of University Relations at WVU Tech Beckley Campus.

The weekend’s events are open to the community and all events are free except for The Hall of Fame and Alumni of the Year dinner events cost $40 per plate. To RSVP or learn more information you can visit, alumni.wvutech.edu or contact the Office of Alumni Relations at 304.929.1254.
