FAYETTE COUNTY, WV (WOAY) – The Fayette County Emergency Services had a conference call with the National Weather Service and to sum it up, nothing has changed over the last 24 hours, however, that does not mean that we are out of the woodwork just yet. There are still enhanced threats for flooding and Tornado activity in the eastern part of the county and that would affect the areas of Danese, Meadow Bridge, Babcock, Nallen, Russellville.
The greatest concern is that All of the southern counties eastern counties ie, Mercer, Summers, Monroe, Greenbrier has been issued a Flash Flood Watch.
Those that are living in the areas that were listed need to make sure they have plans to get out if something was to occur.
One of my biggest concerns is the Meadow River. Fayette County should see anywhere from 2 up to 5 (in the higher mountains) of rainfall over the next 24 to 48 hours.
Please stay alert and make plans NOW, that way when the time comes you will not be scrambling around and end up on the wrong end of the deal.
