Courtney Smith Signs With WVU

Oak Hill, WV (WOAY) – Oak Hill senior Courtney Smith signed a letter of intent Wednesday to play soccer at West Virginia next season.

Smith is a first-team all-state selection this year, as voted on by both coaches and sportswriters. She scored 40 goals and provided 26 assists in 2018 as the Lady Red Devils won a second straight sectional title. Smith finishes her high school career with 106 career goals, from one year with Greater Beckley and three at Oak Hill.

Smith says the opportunity to play with the Mountaineers, who have consistently fielded one of the top teams in women’s college soccer in recent years, is a dream come true.
