Concord Splits Doubleheader With Glenville State

WOAY – Concord basketball started a busy stretch of games Wednesday night by splitting a Mountain East Conference doubleheader at Glenville State.

The Lady Lions’ five-game win streak came to an end with a 96-85 loss to the Lady Pioneers, who remain unbeaten in league play. Riley Fitzwater led Concord with 22 points and 14 rebounds, while Madison May contributed 19 points.

The Mountain Lion men have now won two straight after a 94-67 win over the Pioneers, which takes them to 10-8 overall and 7-6 in the MEC. Tommy Bolte led all scorers with 36 points, while B.J. Hamlet and Darian Peterson scored 19 and 14 points, respectively.

Concord returns to Athens Saturday for a doubleheader with West Virginia Wesleyan. They also have matchups with Bluefield State on Monday.
