Concord Ready for Thursday Home Opener

Athens, WV (WOAY) – Hear from Concord football head coach Paul Price on the eve of the Mountain Lions’ home opener with the University of Charleston at Callaghan Stadium Thursday.

The Mountain Lions are coming off a 34-31 win last week at West Virginia Wesleyan, decided on a walk-off field goal from Luke Walls; the freshman was named Co-Special Teams Player of the Week by the Mountain East Conference.

Charleston also is off to a 1-0 start, coming from behind to edge West Virginia State 35-31 last week. The Golden Eagles have won three straight over Concord, including a 27-0 win in 2017.
