Concord Baseball’s Season Ends in MEC Tournament

WOAY – Concord baseball saw its 2018 season come to an end Friday with a 15-4 loss to Shepherd at the Mountain East Conference Tournament in Beckley.

The Rams scored first in the opening inning, but then were able to post 11 runs in the third, all with two outs. Concord would respond with three runs in the fourth inning, before adding runs in the seventh and ninth innings.

Jordan Clark batted 2-for-4 with three RBI, hitting two home runs for the Mountain Lions, while Trevor Wiersma also had a run batted in. Trent Abernathy was Concord’s pitcher of record with 2.2 innings work, while Bryson Booher struck out four in relief.

The Mountain Lions finish the season 26-23.
