WOAY – Chris Vicars is the new head coach of Summers County high school football, with the Board of Education approving the hiring on Wednesday.
Vicars was previously the head coach at Independence, but resigned in January to take the assistant principal position at Summers Middle School. He had said in January he planned to return to coaching in the future.
He takes over a Bobcat team that has made playoff appearances in back-to-back years, going 8-3 in 2016.
