Morning/Noon Meteorologist

WOAY-TV is looking for a motivated team player to join us as a Morning/Noon Meteorologist.

Duties include forecasting, creating graphics and maps, presenting clear and concise weather forecasts, and writing weather stories.  You will work with producers to determine relevant weather-related content for shows.  You will be expected to produce content for a variety of platforms including our website, social media, and mobile app, in addition to television.  You will also issue warnings and alerts as received from the National Weather Service and utilize social media during severe weather.  WSI Max experience is a plus.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s degree in meteorology or another related field.  Strong verbal and written communication skills are crucial.  You must be able to prioritize, work well independently, have strong organizational skills, handle time constraints, and meet deadlines.  Candidates must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and satisfy a pre-employment DMV check.

CHIEF METEOROLOGIST

Duties include leading the team of meteorologists, forecasting, creating graphics and maps, presenting clear and concise weather forecasts, and writing weather stories.  You will work with producers to determine relevant weather-related content for shows.  You will be expected to produce content for a variety of platforms including our website, social media, and mobile app, in addition to television.  You will also issue warnings and alerts as received from the National Weather Service and utilize social media during severe weather.  WSI Max experience is a plus.
