WEEKEND SPORTS ANCHOR / REPORTER

WOAY-TV is looking for a motivated team player to join us as a Weekend Sports Anchor/Reporter. Responsibilities include anchoring and producing sports segments in the Saturday & Sunday 6:00p & 11:00p newscasts, as well as reporting three days a week. Fill-in anchoring as needed. Being familiar with ENPS and Adobe Premier are a plus. A four-year degree and a clean driving record are a must.

WEEKEND ANCHOR / MMJ

WOAY-TV has an immediate opening for an Anchor/Reporter to anchor weekends and report three days a week.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s degree in journalism or other related fields. Strong verbal and written communication skills are crucial. You must be able to prioritize, work well independently, have strong organizational skills, handle time constraints, and meet deadlines. Candidates must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and satisfy a pre-employment DMV check. Previous on-air experience anchoring and reporting is required. ENPS experience is a plus.

As an anchor, you will be responsible for producing and anchoring up to four-weekend newscasts as well as posting content to social media and WOAY.com. You will also fill-in anchor as needed.

As a reporter, your responsibilities will include pitching story ideas, developing contacts and shooting, writing and editing stories. We`re looking for someone with solid news judgment, strong writing skills and the ability to work well with others. You’ll post stories on our internet site as well as our social networking sites.

CHIEF METEOROLOGIST

WOAY-TV is looking for a motivated team player to join us as our Chief Meteorologist.

Duties include leading the team of meteorologists, forecasting, creating graphics and maps, presenting clear and concise weather forecasts, and writing weather stories.  You will work with producers to determine relevant weather-related content for shows.  You will be expected to produce content for a variety of platforms including our website, social media, and mobile app, in addition to television.  You will also issue warnings and alerts as received from the National Weather Service and utilize social media during severe weather.  WSI Max experience is a plus.

The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience and a Bachelor’s degree in meteorology or other related fields.  Strong verbal and written communication skills are crucial.  You must be able to prioritize, work well independently, have strong organizational skills, handle time constraints, and meet deadlines.  Candidates must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and satisfy a pre-employment DMV check.

Multimedia Journalist

This position requires you to report, shoot, write, and edit stories. You will be expected to produce content for a variety of platforms including our website, social media, and mobile app, in addition to television. Factual research, source development, and finding leads is crucial, in addition to being flexible to work assigned shifts.
