Fayetteville, WV (WOAY) – Fayetteville’s City Hall was turned into a finish line Saturday Afternoon for the Captain Thurmond’s Challenge. The event is normally a triathlon but due to high river levels, the rafting portion of the race was canceled. The Bike-Run saw over 70 participates with the top three finishers all receiving prizes. Acie Hylton won the expert division with Kevin Fletcher and James Fagarte finishing just behind. The last-minute change benefitted the winner.
