WOAY – Marshall junior guard C.J. Burks was named Conference USA’s Player of the Week Monday afternoon.
The Martinsburg native averaged 24.5 points, five rebounds, and three assists in the Thundering Herd’s wins last week over preseason league favorites Middle Tennessee and UAB.
Burks is the third different Marshall player to receive Player of the Week honors, following Jon Elmore (twice) and Ajdin Penava. He was also a two-time Freshman of the Week in the 2015-16 season.
Marshall visits Western Kentucky Saturday afternoon.
