Fayetteville, WV (WOAY) – First it was an appearance in the 2016 state quarterfinals. Then, many players contributed to the football team’s run to the Class A semifinals.
Now, Fayetteville boys basketball is the last remaining unbeaten team in West Virginia; the Pirates are 19-0 following Tuesday’s win against Greater Beckley Christian.
Expectations were high entering this season with only one senior graduating in 2016, but the players are aware of what they’ve been able to accomplish. That goes for individual accolades as well; Will Fenton & Ricky Meadows have both reached 1,000 career points over the season.
Fayetteville will look to move to 20-0 on Friday when they travel to James Monroe. The Pirates beat the Mavericks at home in January.
