BLUEFIELD, VA (WOAY) - The Bluefield, Virginia Fire Department is warning residents of a fundraising scam.

The Fire Department says that an individual or individuals are actively seeking donations on behalf of the Bluefield VA Fire Department. The Bluefield VA Fire Department is not, and does not solicit donations from the public.

If you have been solicited by anyone falsely representing themselves as a member of or collecting donations in the name of their department, please notify them directly or contact the Bluefield VA Police Department or Tazewell County Sheriff’s Department.
