Bluefield, WV (WOAY) – The 22nd annual Holiday of Lights festival is underway in Bluefield, with Dr. David Tolliver officially opening the festival.

Dr. Tolliver gave a $60,000 donation toward this year’s light display, the second-largest in West Virginia. Over the next few weeks, visitors will have a chance to experience holiday hayrides and pictures with Santa Claus.

“There are two things that come together tonight: my love for Bluefield and my love for Christmas,” explains Dr. Tolliver. “I’ve always visited the park during Christmas season and it’s given me and my children great joy every year.”

“We’re very appreciative that every year we’re able to make it bigger and better for our citizens,” adds Bluefield Mayor Ron Martin.

The festival runs through December 31.
