Appalachian League Update – July 14

WOAY – The Princeton Rays entered Friday with a chance to sweep the Danville Braves at Hunnicutt Field, but it was the visitors who won 9-5 to salvage one game from the three-game series.

Devin Davis brought in two runs for the Rays, while Kevin Santiago hit a solo home run in the ninth inning.

Bluefield was looking to win its three-game series with Greeneville, but after several innings of tough pitching it was the Astros winning 11-0.

Blue Jays starter Elio Silva went five innings with seven strikeouts, giving up only one hit.

Both Princeton and Bluefield are on the road this weekend; the Rays will visit Bristol while the Blue Jays head to Danville. Bluefield is two games behind Pulaski for the East Division lead.
