No PCBs Found in Minden Area Soil


MINDEN– The city of Oak Hill has released more information about the sewer project in the Minden area.

City Manager Bill Hanabass says Tribute has left the work site after Governor Jim Justice issued an order halted part of the project.

Terradon collected four soil samples from the Arbuckle Sewer Plant area in Minden. They say no detectable amounts of PCB were found in those samples.

Tribute had been working near the Arbuckle Sewer Plant and hauled dirt from that area and dumped it behind Collins Park. Hannabass says they trucked in better material to cover the pipe. He says they have received several complaints about dirt being dumped near the park. The DEP has inspected this dirt and did not have any findings. Hannabass expects them to issue a report stating that soon.
