Mercer County Schools Officially Closed Monday

MERCER COUNTY, WV (PRESS RELEASE)- Mercer County Board Of Education released a statement regarding school closings on Monday:

We were hopeful an agreement to prevent further school closures would be reached by now. However, to date, a resolution has not occurred. We do not believe we can offer a quality instructional environment and will not be able to provide proper supervision on Monday, February 26, 2018. As a result, all schools in Mercer County will be closed on Monday. All instructional days lost will be rescheduled in the calendar at a later time.

The Science Fair which was scheduled to be held at Mercer Mall on Monday, February 26, 2018, is now cancelled. It, too, will be rescheduled for a later date.

Should a resolution be reached, we will notify you immediately using our phone messaging system. Additionally, we will post to the WVDE website, the MCS website, and to Facebook.
