GLEN MORGAN, WV (WOAY)- One local resident is hoping to live his life a little differently, “It’s really embarrassing to be seen this way. I hate it,” said Marcus Stapleton, a local veteran.

Marcus Stapleton served for his country in 1993 and 1994 in the the Army and is now trying to receive answers from another battle he is fighting.

“They are making me wait six months to be able to get a set of dentures and have teeth,” said Stapleton.

Marcus has one request which is to receive his dentures from the Beckley VA Medical Center in a timely manner.

During his time of not having dentures, Marcus has had adjust to eating a strict diet of soft foods.

“I am left with eating certain foods like mashed potatoes, hot apples with cinnamon.  I can’t chew and it’s really messing up my body,” said Stapleton.

Marcus did share with WOAY that after the interview, his battle will finally be over as the VA did reach out to him and the clinic will be sending him to Rock Gap, VA to Affordable Dentures to receive his dentures faster.
