FAYETTEVILLE– The Fayette County Sheriff’s Department’s new leader was officially sworn in Thursday afternoon.
Thursday at the Fayette County Courthouse, Mike Firdley took the oath of office as Fayette County’s new sheriff. Fridley ran as a democrat and beat out republican Tom Ballard in the general election. He says he has big plans for fighting the drug epidemic and combating the issues important to Fayette County residents.
Fridley is currently the chief deputy and has served Fayette County for 20 years. Both and he and outgoing Sheriff Kessler are excited for this next step.
