Wyoming East and St. Albans faced off in a Saturday championship matchup in the Big Atlantic Classic. The defending Class AA state champion Lady Warriors aren’t used to playing from behind, but that’s exactly the position they found themselves in the third quarter. Despite a ten point deficit entering the fourth, the Lady Warriors battled back and forced overtime.
In the extra period, the championship resolve took over as Wyoming East secured the 66-60 victory behind 31 points from Jasmine Blankenship.
