Responsibilities include anchoring and producing sports segments in the Saturday & Sunday 600p and 1100p newscasts.  Reporting three days a week.  Fill-in anchoring as needed.  There may be other responsibilities as assigned.

Being familiar with video cameras, ENPS and Final Cut Pro are a plus.  A four-year degree and a clean driving record are a must.

WOAY in Oak Hill, WV  is looking for a Weekend Meteorologist/Reporter to anchor weather segments on Saturday and Sunday evening and report three days a week.

As a meteorologist, you will be responsible for the content of the weather forecast on-air, online and on social media. You’ll issue warnings and alerts as they come in via the National Weather Service and produce graphics and maps. You must be able to utilize social media during severe weather, as well as write weather stories. Duties include forecasting, producing and presenting clear and concise weather casts – which tell a story and connect with viewers, developing content and graphics for on-air, web and social media, making public appearances on behalf of the station and work with producers to determine relevant weather content in breaking and everyday situations.

As a reporter, you will need the skills to tell memorable stories. We value visual and compelling storytelling. Your responsibilities will include pitching story ideas, developing contacts and reporting three days a week. We’re looking for someone with sharp news judgment, strong writing and excellent storytelling skills, and the ability to work well with others.  You must also have excellent time management skills.

This is an ideal entry-level position, but you should already be familiar with weather systems, video cameras and editing software.  A four-year degree and a clean driving record are a must.  ENPS, Final Cut Pro and WSI Max experience are a plus.
