Business Gears Up This Year For Valentines Day!

Valentines Day is right around the corner, floral shops all over the Nation are preparing for the big day that is ahead of them. Bessie’s Floral Designs is one of the shops in Southern West Virginia that is preparing as well, but this year is a bit different than previous years. “It’s steady, it’s steady, it is not quite as frantic as a lot of Valentines Days that I have lived through.”

Barbara who has been in the floral business for 23 years along with her husband, Bill, says the economy has a lot to do with the decrease of business. “The economy is down. We got a lot of people out of work. So we’re just thankful for what we get.”

As of right now, they have about 150 orders, and there is one particular flower that is their best seller this year. “Dozen roses, a single rose whispers, “I love you.” A dozen roses, shouts, “I love you.” And we are doing a whole lot of roses.”  Bessie’s will continue to take orders right up until 5 p.m. on Tuesday. So it is never too late to order flowers for your Valentine.
